Little Fish Creek Retreat

Welcome to Little Fish Creek Retreat, boasting about three-quarters of a mile of Little Fish Creek frontage and timbered ridges. This property is contiguous to 633 acres of State Land to the north and 480 acres of Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land to the south. A healthy mix of terrain and vegetation is suitable for a remarkable variety of wildlife, including moose, elk, mule deer, whitetail deer, antelope, and upland game birds. Little Fish Creek Retreat ranges in elevation from 5,080 feet to 5,320 feet. A little over an hour from Bozeman and less than a half hour to Twin Bridges and Whitehall, Montana, land in the tightly held Jefferson River Valley rarely comes to market. With some of the countrys most breathtaking scenery, this property enjoys views of surrounding mountains in an unspoiled valley that has remained unchanged for generations. Just 15 minutes east is the Jefferson River, one of southwest Montanas many world-famous trout streams. The Jefferson River is formed by the confluence of the Ruby, Beaverhead, and Big Hole Rivers just north of Twin Bridges. The Jefferson meets the Madison and Gallatin Rivers downstream near Three Forks, becoming the mighty Missouri River. The Jefferson River is one of the great fishery restoration success stories in the US, as referenced in an article in Fly Fisherman Magazine entitled Jefferson River Rising. During the late 80s and 90s, the river suffered from chronic de-watering due to the over-appropriation of water for irrigation combined with low water years. In a cooperative effort between landowners, the state, Trout Unlimited, and Orvis, the Jefferson has become one of the great large trout fisheries in the American West.
