The experience is dominated by Lake Nicatous and Nicatous Stream which are pristine wilderness waterways. The surrounding woods are much like they have been for thousands of years; the Nicatous Lodge has been a jumping off point to the Maine Wilderness since it was erected in 1928. Many customers today are the direct descendants of guests that came to the Lodge 70 years ago!
